클레어 커닌은 인간성을 통렬하게 보여주는 구상 조각품을 만든다. 흰색 포슬린 점토를 손으로 빚어 만든 그의 작품은 상실, 고통, 희생, 재탄생이라는 인간 모두에 공통된 주제를 다룬다. 때로는 흰색 포슬린에 푸른 색이나 황금색을 가미하기도 한다. 반투명의 깨지기 쉬운 포슬린의 물성은 인간의 상태와 경험에 대한 은유이다.

Claire Curneen creates figurative sculptures that poignantly reflect on humanity. Universal themes of loss, suffering, sacrifice and rebirth underpin her works. Hand-built in white porcelain, sometimes with touches of blue or gold, their translucent and fragile qualities offer metaphors through which we can consider the human condition and experience.
